This has already been pointed out by several people. Cheat Engine does not cause VAC bans, unless it is actively attached to a game in a VAC secured server. You can doubt me all you want, but assuming I'm being honest (which I am), please be fruitful and share your thought on it. If you read everything I wrote and didn't instantly doubt my integrity then instead of being derogatory you'd give me the genuine response I'm looking for (assuming you actually have experience) is what can I do (assuming I'm not guilty which I'm not) and if I can't do anything, what can I expect? (assuming I'm telling the truth). After the first error, I CLOSED cheat engine and proceeded to get the same error after trying to reconnect. Using it to cheat on a VAC enabled game, in a VAC secured server causes a VAC ban.Ġ day(s) since last ban Like I clarified, I have not attached cheat engine to CS:GO, it was idling in the background from a previous game. Originally posted by C☬^Guyver |NZB|:Try again, Wayne. Again and for the last time, please leave a sincere response. I'd figure if Steam and Valve acknowledge cheat engine as a vac-infringing software on their how to fix the vac error page, then it only makes sense that they make concessions for bans in relation to it? At this rate I'm ranting but rightly so, Steam's negligence in this circumstance is inexcusable, considering the subject in question involves borderline fraud. Cheat engine was not enabled to influence CS:GO as an application, it was just idling after closing the game I previously mentioned, so imposing an actual influence on game files/properties couldn't have been justified by simply having the application open. Please let me know what you think, and if Steam's unbanning algorithm works, how long does this process take naturally from anybody's experience? I look forward to any sincere response. I didn't come here to complain about the system, I came here for advice, ease of mind and/or confirmation in my beliefs that this is just an effort for Steam to make more money off of the service they provide than they already do through a seemingly fraudulent system to revoke the service that they provide that you have already paid for. SO in this situation, what do I do and if there is nothing that I can do, should I expect Steam's algorithm to function the way it is meant to an unban me from this mishap? The way I see it, the VAC system is fraudulent if you can get banned without justification and are revoked the right to refute it. Now I have to rely on the system to MAYBE unban me through Steam's algorithm, in which I am not sure if I trust to unban me. Now this wouldn't make me mad if I could just talk to somebody and get it fixed, but now my few CS:GO skins, progress and interactability are all revoked and void and I can't talk to anybody through Steam Support to get it sorted out. I finish the steps, then restart my PC and what do you know? YOU HAVE BEEN VAC BANNED. OK, so I proceed to do all 3 different methods that steam provides as a solution to not get the authentication error. SO I restart my PC after closing CS and steam, load up and try again, same message, so now at this point I gave up on trying to get back in the game since too much time has passed to get in before cooldown timer starts. SO I closed cheat engine, tried opening up the game, reconnect and BAM, same message. I look at the page it sends me saying how to fix it. I get in game, play for a minute and BAM, kicks me out saying there's a VAC authentication error. So I opened CS:GO in which I have over 2100 hours on and never cheated on before to play some competitive with a friend. I was playing a game that isn't vac-enabled using a trainer for speed-runs (as in trying to complete the game in a short span of time under different conditions) and I forgot to close cheat engine, not thinking much of it.
